Sue Lyndon & Celeste Jones-Papa’s Captive

Sue and Celeste are taking us back to Talcott House where young ladies are trained and brought up to be the perfect little brides to their Papas. This is the 4th book in the series, and they can all be read as standalones. The 4 women are all friends and they are all referenced in each other’s books, but you aren’t going to be lost if the first one of these books you pick up is Papa’s Captive.

Lord Caldwell has been courting his beloved Rosie for quite some time. They are betrothed, but she’s nervous about setting a wedding date. When he doesn’t show up to see her in some time, Rosie is very worried that her hesitation has driven him away. It doesn’t help that she already has a secret that makes her worry that her betrothed would abandon her if he found out. It’s a terrible secret.

On the day that two of the other girls at Talcott house start poking at her because Lord Caldwell hasn’t been there for a while, all of Rosie’s anxiety pops up and she ends up smacking Lettie and rolling around on the floor, fighting with her. But, just as she’s about to be punished, Lord Caldwell shows up. The two of them are going to go out walking through the gardens, but Lord Caldwell has other plans. He gives a gift to Garland so that she’s distracted and then he spirits Rosie away to Gretna Green to get married. You see, back in the day, England had very strict regulations concerning getting married. But Scotland, you see, did not. Gretna Green was the first Scottish town over the border and so many, many people eloped there. Luckily for Lord and Lady Caldwell, Gretna Green was a quick ride away from the familial castle in Scotland, so after the 2 day trip to Gretna Green and a quick marriage, they were able to spend their first night as a married couple in their own bed. But of course, nothing is ever all that easy, now is it?

I like Rosie. She’s sweet and loving. She also deals with a lot of anxiety, and I can totally relate to that one. And, while she works really hard at trying to be a good girl and a proper lady, I think that she definitely has some fire in there. I mean, she tried to punch one of the other girls and threatened to punch Garland. And by the way,  I totally think that Garland was trying to get with Lord Caldwell. I would’ve wanted to punch her too. Lord Caldwell seemed a little flighty at times, but that started to calm down, and I liked him a lot.

The secret about Rosie’s father wasn’t what I was expecting it to be, I mean, I did expect something criminal, but not that particular thing. I expected something more gruesome, I think.

Lord Caldwell’s cousin is a raging bitch. Maybe she would benefit by a few trips over someone’s knee with a belt and a whole lot of time sitting in a naughty chair or in the corner. Or, you know, being bricked up in a wall. You choose.

OK, that’s all I have to say about this one. Go check it out, along with all the other books. Happy reading!

Sue Lyndon & Celeste Jones-Papa’s Desires

Sue Lyndon and Celeste Jones are taking us back to Talcott House and our lovely little ladies in Papa’s Desires. This is the second book in the Little Ladies of Talcott House series.

Talcott House is run by Miss Wickersham. She finds unfortunate young women in bad circumstances and brings them to her academy. There, the young women are taught everything they need to know to be a proper lady. They are also treated like little girls and kept as close to a little girl state as possible. Miss Wickersham believes that every child deserves to have a happy childhood and her charges weren’t able to get that. So, she regresses them back to their childhood and gives them the happy childhood that they never got.

This book is about Hyacinth, also known as Cynny. Her best friend Camilla recently got married to Lord Cavendish, and now it’s Cynny’s turn. However, there are some worries about her status when it comes to marrying Lord Kensington. Cynny has had problems with stealing and causing mischief. We open the book to her sitting in the naughty chair and listening to a conversation that she probably shouldn’t be hearing. Hyacinth hears that Talcott House is having money issues, because one of their patrons hasn’t been paying the stipend that he pledged to. That makes Cynny’s wedding very important because Lord Kensington has already pledged a large bridal gift, which could help repair the Talcott House. Cynny vows to be as good as she possibly can so that she can get her new Papa, because she’s looking forward to having a Papa and she wants to make sure that Talcott House and all her friends are OK.

Lord Grayson is new to his role. His father recently died. In doing all the paperwork after his death, Grayson found out that his father had been sending a stipend to Talcott House. He’s bound and determined to get rid of that stipend. He figures that it’s some kind of scam or some such. One day, when driving down to London, he finds himself near Talcott House, so he stops there to find out what’s going on. First he sees and hears all the young ladies out at play and notices that they are all dressed quite girlishly even if they are all obviously very womanly. Then he finds Miss Wickersham who explains. Lord Grayson also gets a chance to talk to Hyacinth, who tells him part of her story, but he doesn’t believe her. Before he leaves, she relieves him of his pocket watch so she can give it as a wedding gift to her new Papa.

OK, it’s that time. There is some conflict in this when it comes down to Lord Kensington and Lord Grayson, but it’s going to work out just fine, I have a feeling. There’s also some issues with Cynny’s past. We get a quick and hot look at Cammie too, which is really nice.

hyacinth-muscari-grape-hyacinth-flowers-87612

Poor Hyacinth. I felt bad for her that Grayson didn’t believe her when she told him her story before they were married. She felt like she had to hide part of who she was, and that had to have been hard on her. No one wants to feel like that.

I’m looking forward to Rose’s and Daisy’s story. As a British TV fan, I have to wonder if there is a Violet hanging around somewhere. Points if you can get the reference.

OK, that’s all I have to say today. I recommend reading this book. Happy reading!

Black Light Roulette Redux

The party in this book is the kind of Valentine’s Day party I’d like to attend. Participating would be even better. But since I don’t have $2.5K/month and Black Light doesn’t exist in my world, I’ll just have to make do with the sexy books that come out of the club.

Livia Grant originally gave us Jax, Chase, and Emma who started and own Black Light. It’s the most exclusive, most private, and hottest sex club in Washington, D.C. People come from all over to come play in the dungeon. Last year, for Valentine’s Day, Black Light put on a Roulette event which matched random Doms and subs and random kinks. It went so well last year, that they decided to put on another event this year.

This year, they decided to open it up to more participants and open it up to M/m, F/f, and F/m couples, so everyone can play. We don’t see any of their stories, which I would’ve liked to, especially the F/m couple and Sybian orgasm torture. That would’ve been a fun show to watch.

Black Light: Roulette Redux is made up of 9 kinky authors who have gotten together to write 9 hot, sexy stories that are brought to you by the letters BDSM, the number 69, and the color pink.

We get to see a little bit of everything from our players and get to enjoy all the dark and delicious things that happen. The book starts and ends with Jax, Chase, and Emma, written by Livia Grant and Jennifer Bene. That ties each of the stories together and makes it a cohesive whole, and turns 9 stories that all take place in one 3 hour time slot into one book. One of the things that I like about these stories is that the introduction gets all the couples set up and certain events happen, and in the stories, you still see those certain events happening, but you get them from the POV of the featured couple. It really emphasizes that all these stories are happening simultaneously.

Jennifer Bene and Livia Grant-Introduction and Conclusion

We get a nice set of bookends with the intro and conclusion. The intro sets us up for the upcoming event and the conclusion wraps everything up quite nicely. Make sure that you read everything before you read the end because you there are spoilery spoilers in it and you don’t want that. Trust me on this.

Jennifer Bene-Unrestrained 5*

You know how I feel about Jennifer Bene and her stories, right? Well, I got to read this one in beta and told her how much I loved it. It was hot then, and it’s even hotter now.

Bianca is really excited about this year’s Roulette event. She wasn’t around for the previous event but has heard that it was fantastic. She’s looking for the right Dom, one who can give her what she needed, and one who can control her. Meanwhile, Silas is looking for the perfect and elusive sub. He likes to deal out pain and he wants someone who can handle the pain that he wants to give them. He’s not expecting anyone who can stand up to what he likes to do, but he’ll be happy if he can get a good scene. When they get together, will they realize what they have together?

This is a filthy story that will leave you aching on Bianca’s behalf. It was very hot and very sexy. I’d love to see more of Bianca and Silas, because I think they have so much more to show us.

Livia Grant-Brat 4.5*

Gabriella is used to getting her own way. She’s a socialite who is always in the public view and has gotten into trouble more than once. When she needs more money than she gets from her allowance, she just goes to see her “uncle”, who is the trustee of her trust fund and wheedles more money out of him. The only problem is that he’s now retired and left it to his son, Connor. Connor has resented Gabriella for years. His father was always running out to clean up Ella’s messes, and he’s not about to fall for her tricks. While she’s waiting to prove to Connor that she’s an adult, she sees an invite to a party that she decides she’s going to take and go to.

Livia is so devious with this story. I love the scenes she gives Connor and Ella, and how well they fit into the existing dynamic that the two of them already have. I thought that it worked really, really well.

Renee Rose-Forced 5*

Mariana has decided that she’s going to go visit her little sister in D.C. for V-Day. When her little sister tells her that they won’t be able to sit around and watch romcoms because she’s going to a sex club and is hoping for a good spanking. Mariana isn’t about to let her little sister go to a sex club without her, so she signs up for Redux too. Victor is standing outside waiting to go into the club when he sees a very confident woman saunter up to the entrance. He talks to her for a minute and is fascinated by her. When he rolls her name in the event, he’s quite delighted. Mari doesn’t know what she’s in for when she leaves the stage with Victor.

I loved reading Renee’s story and the three-hour tour that Mari takes in the world of BDSM. Victor was really careful with her and really did pay attention to what she needed and had no problem doing what was necessary.

Sue Lyndon-Doctored 4.25*

Natalie discovered 5 years ago what it feels like when all your secrets are poured out to the public. When kinky pix of her show up and ruin her chances of a beauty queen title and possibly mess up her father’s political career, she decides that she’s going to hide. The only thing that made any of that bearable was Hunter Knox. He was running against her father and he was nice to her and told her that he wouldn’t use her against her father. She’s had a crush on him ever since. When she shows up at Black Light for Roulette Redux and finds out that he’s there and rolls her name, she can’t quite believe it.

I’m sure that you can guess what kind of kink they get on at least one roll. If you’ve never thought about medical play, Sue may change your mind with this. And the pump that gets pulled out? Yes, please. I need one.

Maren Smith-Shameless 5*

In the real world, there are a lot of “doms” who take advantage of subs who just want to find their place in the world. In Maren Smith’s world, there’s one too. Hadlee had the bad luck to run across one and spent months in a very bad, very abusive D/s relationship with him. When things went sideways, she called Gareth, a DM at Black Light. He came and got her and has watched out for her since. She decides to go to the Roulette event to try to get back the joy of submission. When Noah rolls her name, he decides to ask Gareth to help him with the scenes.

There is a lot in this story. There are several layers going on, which is really impressive on Maren’s part since it can be hard to pack all that stuff into a short story. She’s a tease though, and when you read it, you’ll see why she’s a tease.

Alta Hensley-Edge 4*

Once upon a time, Melinda spent a lot of time at Black Light. She ran a successful business, and was pretty happy. Then she ran away from it all and got married. Now, less than a year later, she’s divorced and decided she’s going to go back to Black Light. Dean was her Dom and when he sees that she’s playing, he arranges it so that they are partnered up. He wants answers and he’s determined to get them.

OMG, while the sex is hot here, the real part of the story is the exploration of submission and trust. That part is breathtaking and makes the entire story. Don’t get me wrong, I liked the sex, but I loved the rest of it.

Measha Stone-Confessions 4*

Dani’s beloved brother was killed in action. His friend Grayson promised to watch out for Dani. The problem is that Dani doesn’t always want Gray to watch out for her or tell her what to do, especially when he tells her to stop going to sex clubs. So, she decides to sign up for Black Light’s V-Day event. She knows that’s where Gray plays, so surely he can’t disapprove of it. Except he does when it comes to her. Gray wants Dani to go home, but she refuses. When he draws her name. he’s prepared to make sure she listens to him.

I got a real zap out of this story. Measha is very creative when it comes to her Doms and their devious plans for their subs. She’s written some of my favorite D/s stories, and she brought that to Dani and Gray.

Maggie Ryan-Surrender 4.5*

Marty is a returning player. We met her last year and we discovered that she likes to top from the bottom. She hasn’t gotten over that habit. She knows how she wants a scene to go and heaven help the Dom who doesn’t listen to her. Owen, Black Light’s rope master, has been telling her that that’s not how you treat a Dom. This night is the night when he decides that enough is enough and decides to put his money where his mouth is.

I love the scenes they do, and I love that we get to see a master shibarist at work. Too bad we don’t have pictures of his work, because that would be totally awesome. Marty takes some hard lessons, but Owen makes it worth it for her.

Jane Henry-Taken 4.5*

Della is a type A person. She’s very controlled, very regimented, and makes sure that everything is done just so. She’s also a sex columnist and has decided to try the Black Light Roulette Redux event this year. When she gets there, she sees a person she never expected. Brayden, one of the Doms, looks over the subs and recognizes Della. She’s his ex-wife. He doesn’t know whether to hope he gets her or to hope that someone else gets her. There is a lot of history between the two of them and a lot that has to be worked through.

I have a deep and abiding love of second chance stories since I was divorced and then years later remarried my ex. It’s possible to be the right person at the wrong time. This is a great second chance story, and the epilogue really made it.

These are great stories, and a good way to get ready for Valentine’s Day, no matter how you are spending it or who you are spending it with. You’re going to be able to read it any time though, and I’m planning on reading it back to back with the first anthology, and really hope that there is another one next year.

Sue Lyndon & Celeste Jones-Papa’s Rules

I really enjoy reading, in case you haven’t guessed that fact by now. I spend as much of my time in other worlds as possible. Sue Lyndon is one of those authors whose worlds I visit a lot. Celeste Jones is a new one to me, but I figured that she would be an author I would like if she were writing with Sue. I was right.

Papa’s Rules is a Victorian-era age play story. I know I’ve asked it before and I’ll wonder it again, what is it with age play stories being set in the Victorian era? I’ve read many that aren’t, but it seems like I’ve read more that are. Maybe it’s because of all the frilly, ruffly, lacy dresses? Who knows, and it’s really here nor there, I guess. Just one of those mysteries. I’ll still read them.

I’m choosing to believe that everyone is familiar with my lecture on age play and DD/lg so that I don’t have to go through it again. Just remember that it isn’t necessarily your kink, but it is their kink, and that’s OK.

Anyway, off to the book.

Years ago, Miss Wickersham ran across a boy dragging a young girl up the stairs of a well-to-do house. She was screaming bloody murder. Miss Wickersham knew something about the inhabitants of that house and it wasn’t anything to their benefit. She stopped and discovered that the boy was trying to sell his sister as a scullery maid. That way she would at least have a roof over her head and food in her belly. Miss Wickersham took one look at the girl and knew that she would be perfect for the special school that Miss Wickersham ran.

At Talcott House, Cammie has spent years being educated and trained just like a proper young girl should be. Miss Wickersham and her staff have trained all the girls there to be ladylike while not getting rid of their little girl side. When the girls have finished their education, Miss Wickersham finds the perfect husbands for them.

Lord Alexander Cavendish is looking for a wife. Not just a wife, he also wants a little girl that he can cherish, love, and adore. He heard that Miss Wickersham’s school has young ladies that have still kept their little girl side and who need papas as well as husbands. So, he decides to go see what is up with Talcott House and meets with Miss Wickersham. She tells him that she has the perfect little girl for him and arranges for him to marry Camellia.

This is a sweet, lovely little story. There is instalove, which is always nice. There is some spanking, but not overmuch, but you can’t have an age play story without spanking. Alexander truly cherishes Cammie, and that’s wonderful. This is a nice way to get someone interested in age play stories if they haven’t read any before and think that they sound interesting. Then they can move into the more intense stories.

white lolita dress

I liked most of the book and thought that it was great. There was just one part I didn’t like, and that was the fact that Cammie kept being told that if she didn’t behave, someone else would be sent to her Papa, and when she met her Papa, she was terrified that if she did something wrong, she would be sent back. That was the only thing I didn’t really like. Of course, I know that it gives Alexander a chance to comfort Cammie, but I just didn’t particularly care for that little bit.

I do like that we get all threads tied up at the end, it’s a nice, tidy end that is quite satisfactory, which is always a nice thing.

Anyway, that’s all I have to say about this sweet lovely story. Go check it out! Meanwhile, happy reading!

Sue Lyndon-Punished by the Cowboy

This post was going to show up on Tuesday, but it dropped early, so I decided to post it today.

Sue Lyndon has made other appearances here on my blog. I really like her books, the menage ones, the non-menage ones, the alien ones, so on and so forth. Punished by the Cowboy is a nice, short spanking story, and just in time for your kinky Halloween read.  Because it’s a short story, this blog post isn’t going to be that long. This story did originally show up in another anthology, but Sue expanded it and gave us more hotness.

There really aren’t going to be much in the way of spoilers, because with something so short, it only takes one extra detail and the whole thing is given away. The premise is that Elizabeth and Jacob met online and they have been talking about everything under the Sun for a while. When it’s time to meet, they decide to meet at a costume party.

This is a wonderful little story, very light-hearted, even with some spanking. I enjoyed every word of this all too brief story. The only thing I wish was that it was longer, just because I was enjoying it so much. I think that it will remain on rotation on my Kindle, as a way to brighten my spirits and to use like I use pickled ginger (yum!) when I eat sushi, a tasty way to cleanse my mind.

Even though it’s short, I still have a picture for it, mostly because I love looking at pictures to find something that suits the book. Tomorrow is a Sophie Kisker story, Tuesday is the new one from Rose Deveraux, both stories that I really enjoyed reading (and rereading). Meanwhile, happy reading!

Sue Lyndon-Claiming Their Slave

Sue Lyndon writes a lot of sci-fi/fantasy based romance. She also writes MFM menage stories. Claiming Their Slave is a fantasy based MFM story. I would also put it in the fated mates category, because the Banded Men generally get some kind of sign that a woman is supposed to be their mate. CTS is the third book in the Barbarian Mates series, and yes, they are all very hot.

The way that this series works is that the heroes are twin brothers from a species called the Banded Men. They are like humans, but generally bigger and tougher, etc. The Banded Men twins have one of the light and one of the dark. The light twin is diurnal and the dark twin is nocturnal. The reason behind that is that their shared mate and children will never be unprotected. If one set of twins has a brother die, then he will join with unmated twins who are his brothers, if he has any, and all three will share a mate.

Anyway, the world in this series is roughly medieval-ish. Humans are relegated to villages that are widely separated by huge forests that are filled with terrible beasts. Humans used to be much more spread out, but as the forests started to magically grow, they all banded into smaller villages and they are far enough apart that the villages generally aren’t in contact with each other. Now that all the background is taken care of, it’s time to move to the review of the actual story.

Ava is a young woman who was born into slavery. Before she was even born, her father was executed for breaking the law and her mother was sold into slavery while she was pregnant with Ava. In this village, if you are born into slavery, you will always be a slave and so will your children. There are very, very rare occasions when a slave may be taken to wife, but that’s generally when the guy can afford to bribe the Elders to allow it. The guys can also have more than one wife.

So, Ava has been packing a bag with supplies and leaving it under her bed for a long time. She keeps telling herself that she is going to escape, when she gets the courage. Every day, she looks at the meadow of daisies in between her village and the woods and dreams of crossing that meadow and escaping into the woods. Part of what holds her back are the stories of the beasts that are in the forest.

One day, her master tells her that two of his son’s slaves have escaped. He searches her room and finds her bag of supplies. He asks her if she knew about the slaves who were going to run away, and then his son shows up and they decide to sell her at a slave auction.

Jaxon, a Banded light twin, is out on a trade mission and checking out how far the human villages in the area have spread out. He doesn’t want them to come too near his home. Generally, he does everything he can to make sure that he avoids human villages, but this day, something draws him to this particular village. He follows the noise and finds Ava, standing on the auction block. There is a creepy-ass old guy who is trying to bid on her, but Jaxon triples the bid and wins.

Jaxon leads Ava through the field of daisies that she’s looked at and dreamed of for years. As they walk through the field, she gathers an armful of daisies. When Jaxon asks her why, she tells him that the largest, most beautiful daisies grow right in the center and she’s never been allowed to go get them before.

When they get to the camp, Jaxon makes her promise that she will not try to escape. However, she has no plan to continue a slave, and she doesn’t know that Jaxon has planned to free her, keep her as a servant, and pay her. So, when he goes into the tent, she runs away. He tracks her down, brings her back, and spanks her. That’s when he realizes that he’s not going to be able to keep her as a servant, but that he wants to keep her as his mate.

Meanwhile, back at the old homestead, Wolfe, his twin, keeps dreaming of Ava, which lets him know that she is probably their mate. However, neither brother is aware of what the other feels at this point, so Jaxon does what he can to hold himself apart from her.

OK, now’s the time to separate. Spoilers will be coming. The Banded Men stories, while there is spanking and hot sex, are pretty sweet stories, overall. The men truly love and cherish their women and want to protect them, even if that means that they spank their mates when necessary. If you like spanking stories but you don’t want to get into anything dark, then Sue Lyndon’s Barbarian Mates series is a good choice.

daisies-2

This is a lovely story, and very sweet. Wolfe and Jaxon take note of Ava’s concerns and make sure that they listen to them and do what they can to make her feel better.

I love their parents, and their mom is just awesome. I thought she was going to smack Jaxon when he told his parents that she was a slave. Of course, they managed to figure out that Jaxon meant to keep her as mate, even though Ava didn’t know it. I did get mad at Jaxon at holding that away from her, which left her unsettled, and wasn’t fair to her.

The battle scene was pretty interesting. I would’ve liked to know for sure who the humans were, more than just assuming that they were from Ava’s village and after the gold and jewels that Jaxon used to pay for Ava.

Anyway, huge long post. It boils down to a great addition to a favorite series. Go check it out! Meanwhile, happy reading!
