Ava Sinclair-War Bride

We’re back in Ava Sinclair’s world of Drakoryans, those hot, hunky dragon shifters. The first two books of the series focused on Lyla and her mates, but now we’re looking at a new bride. We still have hot Alpha dragon shifters, but we have 3 of them now, but we are also in an active war situation, which is different to the last two books. Thus the name, War Bride. See how that works? LOL.

So, our heroine is Isla. In the last book, her village was destroyed by the ShadowFell and Lyla, her mates, and one of the Lords of Za’vol found her in the bottom of the well. She had jumped in there to escape the firey breath of the bad dragons, and hadn’t been able to get out, so if they hadn’t come along, she wouldn’t have lived.

They all took her back to Lyla’s castle so that Isla could be ministered to. While there, news is given that the Drakoryans will now be able to take War Brides, instead of the way that they had been doing it. The Lords of Fa’vol are the first to be given a war bride, Isla.

So, Turin, Zyvis, and Jayx are the Lords of Za’vol and they are pretty jazzed about being able to have a bride. I mean, who doesn’t want to have a mate and who doesn’t want to have a chance to have their bloodline go on? At least in these books. The boys are trying to get Isla to warm up to them because it’s time for them to seal their mating. But first, they must have their big fight so that the order in which they are with Isla for the first time.

There are a lot of really interesting things that go on in the book. One of them is we get to see more into the ways that Drakoryan families can interact, both positively and negatively. I found that to be really interesting because we don’t always see the bad side of heroes and their families, so getting to see the ugly and how it affects a lot of things was refreshing. There are lots of things that have really whetted my appetite for the next books, and hopefully, Ava won’t make us wait for very long.

Yeah, this may look like it’s a weird thing to go with a story about dragon shifters, but trust me, when you read it, you will get it.

It’s going to be a huge change for the villagers and for the Drakoryans to have the villagers right there.

I think I know who our new grouping is going to be. If I’m right, it’s going to be explosive and I can’t wait for the fireworks to start.

Natalie Bennett-Queen of Diamonds

I love reading Natalie Bennett. Deliciously dark, twisted, and mindfucky. Wooohoooo! I mean, can you get anything better? Well, maybe if Jason Mamoa was reading it to me while I was sitting in his lap, but until he comes to his senses and leaves Lisa, I’m going to read them to myself. And I’m perfectly happy with that. That means I can stay up to the middle of the night reading, if I so desire, and I often do.

Anyhow, Queen of Diamonds is her latest one. It’s the first book in a new series, Old Money Roulette. It looks like it’s going to be dark with no redeeming lightness, features, or anything going on. I am loving it. We have a baddie bad guy, a complicated heroine, and a twisted situation that makes me wonder exactly what’s happening and who’s going to survive the road to hell. Or, more precisely, the hell in which they already find themselves.

Elena has to come home because her aunt has been brutally killed and her twin sister, Eva, is missing. Her grandmother and uncle have convinced Elena that the best thing she could do is make sure that everyone knows that her sister is dead, so they buried an empty coffin along with her aunt. At the reception after the funeral, a beautiful man comes up to Elena and starts talking to her. It turns out he’s Mateo Remmington, scion of the biggest crime family in Vice City. This is perfect for Elena, she’s going to worm her way into his affections and trust so that she can find out what happened to Eva.

Mateo, oh man, Mateo. He’s ruthless, twisted, and pretty much evil. He wants Elena. He wants to take her, break her, and turn her into something else. He has plans on plans on plans. He’s at the reception because he owes someone a favor. We don’t know who that someone is or what the favor is. What we do know is that he’s fixated on Elena, and he’s told his brother and cousin that she’s going to be his wife. Now, he has to tell Elena.

OK, that’s the easy plot, the one that we can see. But, being a Natalie Bennett book, we all know that it’s not that easy. She likes to put layers and layers and layers and machinations (I love that word), plots, and secrets in her books. I mean, her books are the ones that you go back to read to find the hints after you know what’s going to happen, and you still can’t find them. QOD is going to be one of those books, for sure. Even a few days after reading it, I’m wondering what is going on. I don’t even have guesses as to what’s going on, really. All I know is that I can’t wait to find out because it’s going to be so good to find out. I can’t wait to find out Mateo’s plans and how Elena is going to fit into them.

I am wondering about Elena’s friends and how involved they are in what’s going on. It seems like it would be a huge thing if she were trusting them in and they were up to no good. I’m also wondering what her grandmother and uncle are up to. I don’t trust them as far as I can throw them.

I would like to find out more about Elena’s dad. We know that he was part of this world, but he sent the girls away to live with auntie, but we don’t know why. I wonder if he’s the person Mateo owes a favor too? Wouldn’t that be an interesting thing?

OK, that’s all I have to say about this one. I will say that if you don’t like to wait for the whole story of things to come out, you may want to wait for the rest of the books. You may end up with more answers than questions while you are reading this, and some people find that frustrating. I’m obviously not one of them, probably I’m a masochist or something. Anyhow, go check it out.

Fawn Bailey-Last Broken Rose

We have the last installment of Rose and Thorn’s story today in Last Broken Rose. You may or may not remember that Fawn Bailey is a nom de plume for Isabella Starling. That’s what she writes her darker stuff under.

So, quick recap of the story. Once upon a time, there was a lovely ballerina named Harlow. When Harlow was a girl, Thorn saw her and decided that he wanted her. On the night of her biggest triumph dancing in The Nutcracker, Thorn came to take her away.

Thorn took her to his mansion so that she could be trained to be his submissive. There, she undergoes all kinds of terrible things, including having to deal with Pia. Then, her friend Carina ends up at the mansion there. The problem is that Carina thinks that Thorn should be hers and she now hates Rose, who used to be Harlow.

So, that roughly brings us up to now. Thorn has put a difficult choice in front of Rose and she makes her choice. When Rose tells him that she wants to dance Odette/Odile from Swan Lake, he sets her up with the best teacher he knows, who just happens to be his sister, and Rose’s former teacher.

Meanwhile, nutbag Carina is being nutters. She has been through some harsh training, but she swears it’s just going to make it so that she can take Thorn, no matter what. You know, I kind of almost feel bad for Carina. Her life went all kinds of crazy and out of control and Thorn was there are a very difficult time in her life, and she was just like a little duckling and imprinted on him. Almost, but not quite.

OK, it’s that time. Does it sound like this is a short review? Well, it kind of is. That’s because there are a lot of things that happen in this book, and I don’t really want to give anything away. Here’s the thing with this book and this series. It took me a couple of days to write up my review of it. I’m not entirely sure why that is. It’s not darker than other books I’ve read, nor is it more intense, but there was just something about it. I had to let it settle in my mind and fit itself inside of me. There’s something so beautiful about the series, which is weird to say, considering it starts with an abduction and lots and lots of punishment and noncon sex. But, it’s true. When I finished the book, there was just a feeling of lightness in my black, little soul. I mean, Thorn was wrong, wrong, wrong for doing what he did to Rose, but it worked out well, and maybe that’s how they were meant to meet after all? I dunno. It’s an interesting point to think about, isn’t it?  I love it when the books I’m reading give me interesting things to think about. Anyway, read the books and tell me what you think.

I’m glad that Pia got some closure. I’m glad that we found out more about her past with Thorn. It’s terribly sad what happened. But, it explains why Pia was so mad at Rose. I would’ve been too, in her place. I would probably have been nastier, but then again, I’m not a nice person at all.

VF Mason-Psychopath’s Prey

VF Mason wrote a complete and utter mindfuck in Psychopath’s Prey. I mean, it’s such a mindfuck, I’m not sure how many times I can put mindfuck down as a description. It was an awesome book. I loved it, every single word of it. I’m going to have to read it again.

So, I’m not going to talk too much about this story, because I don’t want to spoil anything, and really, there are so many things that could possibly be spoiled.

Ella, at 17, walks back into her house after being out with her friends, gets in the shower, goes down to get a snack, and walks into her parents’ dead bodies, but there’s no sign of her little sister. She calls the cops and they eventually find her sister. Sadly, Ella is the only member of her family left alive. She goes to stay with one of her good friends to finish out high school. Eventually, she finds out her family was killed by a serial killer.

Ella has a plan. She’s going to go into criminal psychology and work for the FBI’s BAU. She wants to work with them and catch serial killers and keep them from destroying families the way that hers was. Everyone tells her that she shouldn’t do it, including the dean at her college. She goes to the police academy and she constantly gets turned down by the FBI. Finally, it turns out that she manages to catch a killer, and is contacted by the BAU to join them.

On her very first day of work, they get a call out to a body dump of a serial killer. Turns out there were two dead bodies there.

OK, that’s as far as I’m going in this one now. I will tell you that we have two POVs in this book, we have Ella and we have Psychopath’s. We have no clue who Psychopath is. VF gives us all kinds of suggestions, and each and every one of them is contradictory. I would think I had the identity of who Psychopath was, VF would throw in something else and I had to start all over again. It was totally awesome. There are some triggery things that happen in this book, and if you aren’t a dark fan, this is probably one you should definitely avoid.

This really was a helluva book. It took me for a ride and I had to go read something else altogether after this because it just fucked with my mind so much. It was just that good, really.

Sunniva Dee-Regretfully Yours

Sunniva Dee is another new author for me, not just for the blog. And, before we get to anything, can I just say how awesome I think the name Sunniva is? Very, very awesome. Anyhow, back to the book, Regretfully Yours.

Silvina is out at a club with her bio partner, John, and watching the bane of her existence, Gioele, on the dance floor. When John touches her after buying her a drink, Gioele rushes over and beats John down, and then takes Silvina home. Silvina and Gioele have a lot of history together. They’ve always been really tight, with an incredibly tight bond. As teenagers, that bond went from very close to romantically close. That wouldn’t necessarily be a problem, except for one small, little, tiny fact. They are cousins. The family caught them when they were 16 and 17 and did everything they can to scare them into not being in love anymore. The problem is that it didn’t work out as well as they might’ve liked. While Silvina and Gioele worked hard to maintain some kind of distance, they still have that incredibly tight bond. When she moved to San Francisco to go to college, Gioele followed her.

Silvina tries to separate out her life from Gioele as much as possible, wanting to date and find other men to date. Gioele tries to listen to her, but he knows that she’s the only one for him. She’s his Ina mia. He wants no one other than her, no matter what.

And oh, there’s one more tiny little thing that can affect Silvina and Gioele. They aren’t just cousins, they are also the prince and princess of a huge mob family. Generally, that’s not a huge problem, but Gioele’s father is the head of the family, and he isn’t necessarily as sane as one could hope. That means he occasionally takes turns up the cold war between his family and another family and makes it a hot war. Just like he’s about to do any.second.now.

There’s also the fact that Gioele decides he’s going to do porn, but his brother won’t let him do it at his studio, so he goes to the competitor and films an audition reel. That shit never, ever, ever turns around and bites someone in the ass.

OK, this book was different to what I expected. I expected something darker than this. It had its dark points, and some really shitty things happen in it, but overall, it’s not that dark. I do love how much Gioele takes care of Silvina, and I love his name for her, Ina mia, my Ina. It’s such a sweet, intimate name to call the person who owns your heart. The book, for all the dark parts to it, is overall sweet, and is really good. I enjoyed every word of it, and my heart was light at the end of it.

I didn’t see the bad guy being who he was, but damn if he didn’t just go way into I’m a crazy land. The parental unit of the bad guy wasn’t far off either. I mean, they were a pair of co-dependent nutbags.

Alta Hensley & Zoe Blake-Red & the Wolves

Alta and Zoe have released Red and the Wolves, the second book of their 3 RH dark romance fairy tales. These are not fairy tales to read to your children. In fact, you might not even want to read them around your children. The steam rising off your Kindle might cause them some concern.

So, are you can probably guess, Red is the reimaging of Little Red Riding Hood. Only when the Big Bad Wolf wants to eat Red, he’s not thinking about dinner. And it’s more like Big Bad Wolves, 5 of them, and they all have designs on Red.

The village where Red is born and grows up is surrounded by a tall wall and thick forest. In that forest, there are 5 magical wolves. Back in the day, 500 years ago, the village elders used magic to create the wolves from some of the villagers. They were needed so that they could fight the darkness that threatened everyone. Every so often, the Blood Moon rises, and when the Blood Moon rises, the village sacrifices a villager to the wolves.

Red’s grandmother is a village elder. Too bad it had never been any kind of bonus for her. Her grandmother, the evil old hag, hated Red’s father and since her mother died at birth, it fell on the hag to raise Red. She made sure that not only did Red know how worthless to everyone she is, she also made sure that the village made her an outcast. It doesn’t help that Red stands out because of her very red hair either.

When the Blood Moon rises, the elders say that it’s time for a sacrifice. All the other sacrifices have been chosen from the oldest unmarried males in each household. This time, the hag manages to push through a change, it’s the oldest unmarried person from each household. In this case, Red would be in the group and is the only woman there. And we can guess what’s going to happen, otherwise, this would’ve been a really short book.

Red gets turned out of the village and is left to the tender mercies of the wolves, named Canis, Beo, Grimm, Rood, and Helm. Or, are they men?

OK, it’s time. I love, love, love the names of the guys. I picked up some of the references with the names, but I don’t know if all of them have some kind of significance. I love the books that do that. I love the books that don’t. I love the books. I just think it adds in an extra layer of fun to have various names of characters referring back to other things. Red is a very strong character and is willing to stand up for what she believes in, in my opinion. She doesn’t always listen well, but that’s part of the fun, isn’t it? The guys are very strict and very intense. There is some heavy dubcon going on here, IMO, at least at first. The book is swelteringly hot, with all the good stuff going on. Each of the guys has a distinct personality, and it’s interesting to get to know them. We also get a peek at Snow White and her guys.

I love that Red wants to let the people of her village know the truth. The guys deserve to have the truth known. After all, theirs was the true sacrifice.

I wonder if they were to have babies, would they be able to shift back and forth from human to wolf? That would be such an awesome start to a werewolf legend.

K. Webster-Pearson

I’m sure by now you are all oh so surprised when I have a new K. Webster book on the blog. I just listen for a hint that she’s going to have a book out and then sign up for everything I can. There’s another one coming up not too long from now, too. Just enjoy the twisted mind that is K. Webster. I know I do.

Pearson is part of a 4 book set written by JD Hollyfield, Dani Rene, K. Webster, and Ker Dukey. Each book can be read as a standalone, but they are all interconnected and the characters all show up in the different books. So far, Pearson is the only one I’ve read. I have JD Hollyfield’s and Dani Rene’s, and I’ll have Ker Dukey’s when it comes out next week, so I’ll be reading them all in order, back-to-back. Oh darn, I’ll have to reread Pearson. Damn.

The very first thing you are going to see when you open this book is K’s warning. It’s got to be one of the greatest and shortest warnings I’ve read, and K has written some great ones. Basically, it says that you aren’t going to like this hero. When the writer says something like that, you should probably oughta listen.

Eric Pearson is a single dad. He’s got 4 pretty good teenage boys. He’s also part owner of Four Fathers Freight, and is doing pretty damn OK. Eric believes in getting what he wants. Or rather, he believes in taking what he wants. He sees it, he wants it, he takes it, and bedamned to anyone in his way. He will run them over, friend, enemy, innocent bystander. Right now, what he wants is the very beautiful young woman who is playing around in his swimming pool. Her name is Rowan.

Rowan is on the very verge of turning 18, has a father who treats her like a little girl, and a boyfriend. And did I mention the fact that her boyfriend, Brock, happens to be one of Eric’s sons? And that all 3 of his other sons are enamored with her? That’s not going to stop Eric though. He’s been waiting for her to turn 18 for the past 2 years, and now that she’s about to, he’s going to get her, no matter who he has to destroy to get there.

Rowan has been very aware of Eric for some time, but she’s happy being Brock’s girlfriend. They’ve gotten close and fooled around some, but never had full on sex. After her 18th birthday, where her father gave her a dollhouse, thank you very much, she sneaks next door to Brock’s and is going to get it on with him right up until his dad busts in the door. He kicks Brock out of his own room and points out to Rowan that she’s 18, Brock is 17 and if she does anything with him, she could go to jail, but he’s more than happy to punish her now. And he does.

OK, this is the time we all know is coming. I love Eric. I hate Eric. It depends on the page. He’s a fucking asshole all the time, so that part doesn’t change. He blows very hot and cold with Rowan at first, and that kind of really pisses me off. I know, what can I say. I’d still fuck him. He’s just not really a nice guy. But K writes him very well. I expect it’s hard to write an asshole as a hero. Not that I really think of him as a hero, but you get my drift.

I don’t think that I really have any spoilers on this one. It’s a pretty short read, so go check it out.

Loki Renard-Perfect Evil

Loki Renard is evil. That’s all there is to it. She is just pure evil, just ask Bobby and Mark. They will definitely tell you. Perfect Evil is the sequel to Taken Boy. You could read PE without having read TB, if you really wanted to, but you will not get near as much enjoyment from it. Knowing Angelo and Bobby’s story will help you to understand the changing dynamic when Mark gets added in.

So, here’s our story. It’s been some time since TB. Angelo and Bobby are still together. They don’t have the easiest relationship in the world, but they are making it work for them. The FBI is trying to put together a case against them, which means they are following our man and his boy around. They tried to bug everything, but Angelo is just a wee bit smarter and a helluva lot more paranoid than FBI are, so he has everything scanned for bugs constantly.

Agent Mark Locke was in the military and now he’s in the FBI. This is his first field mission. He’s gay and his teammates know it, but generally, no one is making a thing out of it. He also uses anti-anxiety medication, which he hides from his teammates, because he knows that they would rag on him about.

His team hears about a party that Bobby and Angelo will be at. The person throwing the party usually brings in some pretty boy escorts to act as man candy. So, his team figures since he’s the only gay member of the team and he’s very good looking, that Mark is going to be the one that is going in. Instead of anyone actually trying to figure out what the man candy would actually wear to such a party, they dress poor Mark up in ’80s leather boy style. That, of course, makes him stand out and not in a good way. Mark has everyone’s hands on him at some point.

Then, bullets start flying and Mark gets hit. Angelo decides that he’s going to grab him up and take Mark with him and Bobby. He’s not sure why he’s doing it, but he trusts his instincts, and his instincts say to grab this guy and take him, so he does. Angelo directs Bobby to drive them out to a house in the country.

They get there, and the fun and games get started. I’m not going to even say anything about the fun and games, except for the fact that Angelo is a right bastard with an incredibly inventive and sadistic mind. There isn’t a whole lot of safe, sane, or consensual about anything that Angelo does.

OK. You know the deal. Angelo has plans and schemes and more plans and schemes inside machinations and manipulations. I would never want to play chess with Angelo. I’m pretty sure he has already won the game we were playing and the next one and the one after that. I wondered how Bobby was going to handle having Mark around, and it was… interesting. I need more of Angelo, Bobby, and Mark so that I can watch their dynamic play out some more. Angelo may be evil, but he’s my kind of evil.

Since it’s a short book, there isn’t a lot I want to say about spoilers. But, I just want to say that I’m pretty sure that electricity isn’t going to be someone’s friend for a while. Also, the last chapter was a very interesting chapter when it came to Angelo. Gave some me some insight into him. I need more of Angelo. All the Angelo.

Hannah Davenport-Kattlyn

I’ve had a couple of other Hannah Davenport books on here. One was in a different genre than her scifi romance books, but now we’re back in that genre and back in her Azziarin world. Today, we’re looking at Alan and Kattlyn.

We first met Alan in Theon’s book. Theon’s book is a spinoff from the Azziarin universe, and we’ll be seeing more of that particular spinoff, I expect. Alan was taken prisoner by the Tureis at the same time his sister Krista was, but not by the same group. Alan and Krista had left their secluded cabin and run into the alien invaders. Krista was found by her mate and taken to safety. Alan didn’t fare so well. Along with a human woman, Catalina, he was experimented on. The Tureis were trying to breed humans, but Cat and Alan didn’t do anything that would let them get their wishes. Cat and Alan grew very close, but more like brother and sister than lovers. When they were rescued, Alan went one way and Cat went another.

Alan eventually ended up on an Azzairin ship with Zekke and his mate. They told him that a woman named Krista had mated one of the Azzairin princes. Of course, it can’t be the same one, Alan tells himself. But of course, we can probably guess that it is. When he gets to the castle, he discovers for himself, that yes, it is his sister. Hurray! Krista is so thrilled to see him.

However, Krista isn’t the only one who is glad to see him. Kattlyn, the only princess in a family of princes, sees him and realizes that he is her one true mate. She’s just thrilled about that. Ever since her brothers have come home with their true mates, she’s wanted the same thing. She doesn’t want to live in a loveless marriage with a man who is going to have consorts and will never be faithful to her like she would have to be to him. She saw her mother suffer through that with her father, and she refuses to deal with it. Sadly, her father has arranged a mating with a truly odious man named Jussin, who tells her that he will never love her, he loves his consort and won’t give her up, and he’s only mating Kattlyn so that he can get the power that being mated to a royal will give him. But, she sees her human friends and their mates, her brothers, all being happy and in love, and she’s not going to give that up, no matter what her father says. She keeps telling him that she won’t do it, but he doesn’t listen.

You know how it goes, if you go down past this picture, you run the risk of spoilers. I love the way that this story turns the whole alien man meets human woman and finds out that she’s his fated mate and she has to go to get used to his society right on its head. Now we have an alien man, human Alan, meeting an Azzairin woman who he’s incredibly attracted to, discovers she’s his fated mate, and he has to get settled into her society.  It’s always exciting to see a trope flipped around like that, and even more exciting to see it done as well as Hannah did. I’m glad that Kattlyn gets to have what her brothers have. I think, without having read all the other books in a while, that there is some overlap with this books and the others, in regards to timeline. I’m going to go back and reread them and check. Oh darn, what a tough job I have, right? I have to read a book. Alan was a cop, and this pic made me think of cops dealing with a world after an alien invasion, so there we are.

I knew Jussin was a complete fuckhead, but I didn’t realize that he would be as bad as he was. I didn’t expect him to do what he did. I am normally suspicious of everyone, so the fact that he sneaked that past me is good on him, bad on me.

I love that Alan earned Kattlyn’s family’s respect by beating the ever living daylights out of the rebels. Of course, the world was better off without them there anyway, so yay for that.

Grace Goodwin-Cyborg Fever

If you’ve read my blog for any amount of time, you probably know that I love Grace Goodwin and her Interstellar Bride series. So it should come as no surprise that I devoured her newest book, Cyborg Fever.

Cyborg Fever hit some of my total fave buttons in this world. It’s one of the Colony books and it’s an Atlan. More than just being an Atlan, Anghar is one of my favorite Atlans. He’s been a secondary character in more than one book, and was pretty pivotal in the last IBP book. So I was so very, very happy to see that he finally got his own book. I love the Atlans. There’s just something about those big guys and their inner beasts that’s just so very awesome.

The Colony is where the Coalition fighters who have been “tainted” by the Hive. They were taken prisoner and have had Hive implants. They are sent to the Colony instead of going back to their own planet. The Colony is deep in safe Coalition space and where the Hive can’t reach them. At least, theoretically. For a long time, those guys got no respect and no chance at a bride, but with the new Prime on Prillion having Hive implants and a human bride who told him that it was a shame that the guys on the Colony were treated that way because they are vets and deserve respect, the males on the Colony now have chances to get a bride. There still aren’t a lot of brides on the Colony, but that’s slowly changing.

Ok, on to Angh’s story. We’re two years after the last book and he’s been living on the Colony for those two years. He’s tired, bored, and lonely. The people on the Colony are either mining for resources or protecting the miners and those resources. That’s important for the Coalition, but for men who were trained to be fighters and who have a whole bunch of rage because of what the Hive has done to them, it’s just not enough. One way that they deal with it is to fight in the Pit. The guys can take their aggression out on other guys who are in the same place. Angh is one of the regulars in the Pit. He figures that’s the only place he will ever get some peace because he’s never going to get a bride. He tested for the program a couple of years ago, but no match yet. Then, he sees her.

Kira teaches at the Coalition’s academy, but that’s not her only job, she’s also a member of the Intelligence Corps. She goes in and helps extract high-profile prisoners from the Hive before they can crack their minds. Those prisoners generally have info that would be very hurtful to the Coalition if the Hive were to get it. But she does that on the down low. Her public job is being a teacher. Right now she’s supervising some students who are just about to graduate who are doing a course on the Colony. They are using the caves for simulations since it will be similar to a lot of places where they will be fighting the Hive. She has a friend who is a student and together, they decide to go see the fights in the Pit. That’s when she sees Angh and fixates on him. She decides that she can have one glorious night with him, but she can’t give him any more than that, because the IC basically owns her. That turns into a huge problem for Angh, because while they are having their wonderful night, he offers her mating cuffs. Too bad he wakes up in the morning and she’s gone, with the cuffs sitting on the bed.

OK, you know what time it is. I love Kira and Angh’s story. I love it so hard. It isn’t an easy journey for anyone. There are a lot of shitty things that happen. There is a vice-admiral that didn’t get near what she deserved. Not nearly. I really wanted to go smack the absolute shit out of her, because damn. That was just wrong. If you love the Atlans, this is a definite book for you to read. Angh has been a fan favorite, and like I said, is my fave Atlan. I’m pretty sure that I kind of hate Kira for ending up with him. Oh well, at least he’ll be happy, right? Watch out for a guest appearance from Denzel Washington.

OK, that vice-admiral knew what was going to happen when you threaten an Atlan’s mate. Of course, that was in her plans, devious bitch that she was, but I want to know if she was aware just how far that he would go. I’m betting she didn’t expect him to go to the extent he did. And Kira really needed to kick her ass.

I can’t wait to see more of this world. I never can. Of course, I think Grace may be sadistic to make us wait. Of course, I think most authors are more than just a little sadistic. So, go check this out, along with all the other books, and get the mad Atlan love. Happy reading!
