I have the truly mad and deep K. Webster love, as evidenced by my K. Webster collection on my Kindle. I am working really hard on owning everything she’s written. I have my overall favorite of hers, but generally, my favorite book of hers is whatever I’ve read last. So that means my current favorite is Mr. Blakely.
Mr. B brings us back into K’s little Taboo Town. I don’t know its real name because she’s never given it one that I can remember, so that’s what I call it in my head. There’s a good reason for calling that. Each of the books covers some kind of taboo, and they are all so very good. The fun thing is that while each of these books is a standalone, they are all interconnected. It’s fun to figure out who the various characters are and how they connect up to other books. I won’t point out who the interconnected characters are in this one so you can have your own fun finding them. If you haven’t read the other books, I can point you in the right directions.
But, back to Mr. B. Quinn Blakely’s life has gotten very complicated. His ex-wife ran away to Hollywood with her trainer so that she could be a movie star. She left him with their twin boys and he now has custody of them. But, he works long hours and he needs someone to help out. He can’t run the boys all over the place and get them everywhere they need to go. So, he needs a babysitter. He talks to a friend and gets the name of Ava Prince.
Ava is an 18 year old young woman who is trying to finish high school with the best grades possible and earn enough money so that she can go to Paris with her school’s French group. When Quinn calls her and offers her a job, she agrees. The only problem is that he doesn’t exactly tell her what her job entails. She thinks that she’s going to do some clerical type stuff and some tutoring. Yeah, there’s tutoring involved, but no clerical stuff, instead, she’s surprised to find out that she’s been hired as a nanny/babysitter for his sons.
OK, you know what time it is. I love these dirty little treats. I love reading them. They are quick and filthy. They are also HEAs. They crowd the dark romance line but are more like gray instead of dark. The reason that I stick them in my dark romance section is the taboo bits, other than that, they are just filthy, filthy, erotica. And there is not one thing wrong with that. I will read and reread and read them again, because they are just that good. I mean, K writes so well to begin with, and then these stories are just so… Yeah. Go out and grab this one.
Quinn took a minute to warm up to. He’s kind of hot and cold, and it really frustrated Ava. I mean, it can be hard enough for an experienced person to pick up on all the nuances of a relationship, let alone an 18-year-old who hasn’t ever had any kind of relationship. Of course, it’s not her fault that Quinn is hot and cold. He’s just trying to get himself under control and distance himself. Yeah, how well do you think that’s going to work?
The things that Quinn does for Ava are pretty awesome, and the epilogue made me really, really happy.
OK, that’s all for today. Hop on over to ‘Zon and pick up your copy of this Taboo Town treat and check it out for yourself. Happy reading!
